I want to “Thank You” for visiting my website and hope you’ll check out the samples of my new CD “There Is Hope” and consider purchasing one that helps support what I am doing with this new lease on life; which is to share that “There Is Hope” to find a cure for cancer. There are incredible strides being made by Doctors & Nurses like those at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) that saved my life and organizations like the National Brain Tumor Foundation, the American Cancer Society. For me, a lot of prayer & trust in Jesus Christ, who always had an open ear, brought peace “In the Midst of the Rising Storm” ( a line from the title song “There is Hope”.

I was diagnosed in Jan 2001 with a rare & deadly Brain Tumor called a Pineal Blastoma. This is due to its location in the middle of the brain, along with the difficulty of getting chemo thru the “Blood Brain Barrier”, a membranic structure that primarily acts to protect the brain from chemicals in the blood. After surgery we were told the tumor was very aggressive but that a cutting edge treatment called the “Blood Brain Barrier Disruption” (BBBD) could very well beat this.

We started a monthly trek from Alaska to Oregon that involved a 4 day stay in the hospital & 2 days under general anesthesia while the BBBD was administered. This was done every month for a year, followed by Radiation. I am so fortunate to be here now sharing this with you now!

“You Are My Angel” was written for my beautiful bride and all help & support during this difficult battle. Anita was there every day and during the monthly treatment all she could do was watch me sleep. Knowing she was beside me every difficult step of the way made each day easier to endure.

Each day we struggle with the lingering effects of the surgery, treatment and recovery. My vision and overall energy level has made life much different than it was. However, each day I am blessed with a new beginning and the hope that it brings. My family & friends, made this journey a positive experience that continues to grow with each passing day.

“Life is Good” and I am a very lucky man to now be able to share that hope through my music which makes the journey even more special! Thanx for listening!

In friendship,

Steven
